Maternal Anemia – A Platform for Integration -- A half-day symposium/workshop addressing scientific and programmatic issues for effective scale-up of maternal and child anemia interventions. A program designed to strengthen the knowledge base, identify operations research issues, and share practical ways of overcoming barriers for implementing effective maternal (and child) anemia control interventions among CORE Group PVOs and partner organizations.

Introduction to Nutrition Program Design Assistant: A Tool to Help Make Decisions for the Design of Nutrition Programs -- Come learn about this newly developed guide for program planning teams seeking to select the most appropriate community-based nutrition approaches for specific target areas. Complemented by a Workbook, the tool starts by helping the user analyze the current nutrition situation, moves into identifying potential program approaches to consider, and ends by narrowing down the best combination of approaches given the current situation, resources and objectives.
Lives Saved Tool (LiST) -- Learn more about LiST and how it can be used in Child Survival Projects. This half day training session on LiST will include an overview of the tool and training on how to use the software for program planning, evaluation and advocacy. $30 for 1/2 day or full day attendance. Lunch is included in the registration fee.

CORE Group’s Spring Meeting is open to CORE Group members and colleagues of the CORE Community Health Network. This content-rich event features products and skill-building events created by our eight working groups, State-of-the-Art Updates on maternal and child health, dialogues on community health, Working Group planning, and networking. The workshop style enables all participants to actively contribute.Meeting objectives:1. Develop a better understanding of enabling factors to strengthen effective community health systems, and identify strategies for their application in CORE Group member efforts. 2. Identify at least two to three key resources or new technical information that will benefit their organization’s maternal and child health program quality and impact. 3. Support the development of CORE Group through input into at least one CORE Group MNCH Initiative.4. Participate in the review of FY10 CORE Working Group activities and products and contribute to the development of FY11 Working Group plans. 5. Fostered at least one new partnership with CORE Group members, donors, academia, private sector and/or other institutions. The Social and Behavior Change Working Group of the CORE Group is pleased to invite you to attend a Designing for Behavior Change (DBC) training course. This course is appropriate for all CORE Group member staff responsible for designing behavior change strategies as part of their maternal and child health programs or providing technical assistance to ongoing projects. No prior experience with DBC is necessary.Attendance will be limited to 20 participants and each organization is asked to send no more than two participants. If space remains as the registration deadline approaches, exceptions may be made. The course will be taught in English.Date: May 3-7, 2010Time: 9am to 5pm each day (Friday will end around 3:30)Cost: $300 per participant. Includes tea breaks, lunch and the DBC Curriculum.
